So far, we've updated 2 of 6 computers at the office to the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. Now those 2 computers cannot open PDF files in the Internet Explorer 11 browser.
Adobe Reader opens PDFs just fine from the desktop (not using a browser).
PDF Reader add on not visible in IE. Installed X1 Pro on windows 7 32 bit OS running IE 9 and do not have the Adobe PDF Reader add on listed, (showing all add on) in IE. PDF links will only open in IE which I do not want. Have tried un-installing, deleting Adobe folder out of programs files and reinstalling, same results.
The Adobe Reader DC Add-on is 'enabled' in Internet Explorer.
I have tried to re-install Adobe Reader, disable and then enable the add-on, and change various internet options (such as 'Enhanced Mode' on and off, and 'User software rendering instead of GPU rendering') but nothing seems to work, at least not permanently. It may fix the problem for a few minutes but then the PDFs will not open again. It is very inconsistent.
Has anyone else experienced this problem and is there a fix? One of the computers that I upgraded was running Adobe Reader XI (rather than DC) and it also was not working in the same way. I since updated it to DC and still does not work, so I'm thinking it is an Internet Explorer issue.
